Oct 17 2008	THE PRESENTATION DINNER & DANCE 176 guests attended this years D,&,D, held once again at Saxon Hall. Another great night was had by all, with good food and company. The usual mad hatter disco man by the name of Paul Brandon, kept the dance floor full all evening, until carriages were called for at 1 am. Dave Lincoln the event organiser was MC with the presentations being made by the Associations President Vic Trigwell. John Tanner, the Tournament Secretary and L&W Chairman Peter Jackson also in the picture.
Oct 17 2008	THE LEIGH & WESTCLIFF L.T.A. PRESENTATION DINNER & DANCE John & Gill Tanner had laid all the trophies out ready for Dave Lincoln to call up the winners. Margaret Gabe handed out the league winning certificates. Debbie Rose and Sarah Jacobs took control of selling raffle tickets and £466 was raised. The prizes donated by the presentation menu adverts. The association sponsors Steggles Financial Advisers were in attendance with the Managing Director Simon Steggles watching the silverware being presented.
Sep 21 2008	THE 58th LEIGH & WESTCLIFF SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS JOHN TANNER .. TOURNAMENT SECRETARY.. Thorpe Bay hosted the 58th Summer Finals and did the association proud. John had come out of retirement to bridge the gap until such time as we find a new T.S. He was graced with fantastic weather and long, long matches. The final match ended at 7 p.m. Dave Lincoln did his usual 'David Bailey' bit, taking the photos for the web sites and press.

Just two sets needed for Tim & John to take the cup with the scores of 6 - 1 6 -4

Mandy & Holly White of Kent Elms beat club mates Jo Hancock & Stephanie Haddrell 7 - 5 6 - 1 MENS DOUBLES Pat Taylor & Terry Savage of Kent Elms beat club mates Phil Stevens & Nelson Okomi 6 - 3 3 - 6 7 - 6 MIXED DOUBLES Phil Stevens & Stephanie Haddrell of Kent Elms beat Pat Taylor of K.E. & Lisa Gordon of Leigh 6 - 3 6 - 2 LADIES DOUBLES PLATE Julie Rackman K.E. and Lisa Gordon Leigh beat Lauren Duffield & Gemma Smith of Leigh 6 - 2 6 -2 MENS DOUBLES PLATE David Goodman & Cliff Warwick of Wickford beat club mates Stewart Clarke & Bob Chapman 6 - 0 6 - 0 MIXED DOUBLES PLATE David Goodman & Trica Goddard from Wickford beat Andrew Gardiner & Jane Hunter of Leigh 6 - 1 6 - 1
Sep 28 2007	THE ANNUAL PRESENTATION DINNER & DANCE New venue at Saxon Hall for the Annual Presentation Dinner & Dance. 219 people attended & enjoyed a great night. Food was very good, surroundings perfect, staff extremely helpful. Our normal disco 'The Paul Brandon Disco Road Show' was as lively as always, he had the dance floor buzzing all evening right through to 1 a.m. Andrew Gardiner spent the morning at Saxon Hall with Dave Lincoln setting everything up. John Tanner (Trophy Secretary) organized all the engraving on the trophies and displayed them as shown. Debbie Rose, committee member sold the raffle tickets with colleagues from her club. Vic Trigwell (President) Margaret Gabe Committee Member, and David Lincoln presented the 89 Trophies in record time. David Lincoln was the event organizer and MC and reports that the evening was a great success with no moans up to now. The Wine bar was under staffed as three phoned in sick. Kitty Livingston was presented with a lovely bouquet of flowers for the help she gives Dave within the association by Peter Jackson, the Chairman of the L.&.W. Raffle prizes were donated by advertisers in the presentation menu and £484 was raised.
