28 Oct 2006 - A successful evening yet again
The annual Presentation Dinner & Dance took place on Saturday 28th October. As usual we had a full house and the evening was enjoyed by the 200 present. The only negative remarks heard were, how sad it was that so many of the recipients of trophys were not there to collect the awards. Vic Trigwell, the President of The Assoiciation welcomed everyone and Liz Sissons of Crowstone Church T.C. delivered grace. Following Dinner the MC, and event organiser Dave Lincoln called John & Gill Tanner up for a presentation Baromoter, engraved to our outgoing Tournament Secretary. This was presented to them, along with a bouquet of flowers, by our President. A second bouquet of flowers was presented to Alison Wilson for help given by her partner Gerry with the recent introduction of the L.&.W. website. The MC called up the presentation party consisting of Margaret Gabe, Andrew Gardiner, and our sponsors from the Mortgage Clinic, Bryan & Julie Ledger. 82 cups were presented and Bryan's hand was falling off at the conclusion of the presentations with so many handshakes.
The music was started off by a couple of numbers by the well known lady from Crowstone Church, Stephanie Andrews. The Paul Brandon Disco show then took over and the dance floor was never empty from that point on. The raffle prizes were donated by the adverisers within the presentation menu and £382 was raised for the association funds. Thanks to all 200 guests for their support and a special thanks to the fourteen companies that donated prizes.
