3 Feb 2007 - THE ANNUAL INTER CLUB QUIZ NIGHT

THE TANNERS LUCKY NIGHT. Six Tanners and two Kitson's came up against questions that suited them nicely, thanks very much. They steered Invicta to victory by a very large 16 point margin and bring the Inter Club Quiz trophy back to the Crosby Road club. Playing their Joker on the first round looked to be a long shot with the subject Art and Literature, especially with no others willing to risk the Joker on this category. No risk for the Tanners however, with a maximum 10 points being doubled up to 20 gave them the early lead that was never to be caught. The Association's thanks go to Hockley Tennis Club for the use of their Pavilion, as well as Jim & Jo Day for organising and running the Quiz so well. Well done also committee member Phil Read for chasing all our affiliated clubs to attend this event. It has been rerported back to me that the evening was a great success and the work carried out by the Hockley bar staff, in keeping everyone well lubricated, was very much appreciated.
