In 1931 a few members of the Hadleigh & Thundersley Football club decided to form a tennis club, a site was found adjacent to Hadleigh Park Avenue, hence the name of the club. Two grass courts were prepared and Hadleigh Park was born. In 1935 builders bought the land and a Mr.Upson came to the rescue by offering the club a new site for rent in Elm Road. Hadleigh Park joined the L.&.W. association in 1963 and have enjoyed considerable success since that year.
